Given that most of what I've learned about advertising I've gotten by watching Mad Men, I'm probably not an expert on the subject. However I do know is an effective ad - for example, Spuds McKenzie influenced my decision at the age of 12 to switch brands to Bud Light, and a year later Joe Camel's good works enabled me to pick up a pack of fine Turkish blends.
However what doesn't work is bad, weird or offensive ads. Prepare to howl with laughter or hide in the bathroom as we review the 15 Creepiest Vintage Ads of All Time.
